MATERIALS & DURABILITY

WHAT WE BUILD
WITH, AND WHY

We're trying to make the world's best toolbelts. Materials are a big part of that effort, so we don't cheap out on anything — at every point we choose the best product for the job.

99% of our materials come from the EU or US.

FABRICS

1100DTEX
CORDURA

We build primarily from fabric because it's an efficient material for this use. Our main fabric is 1100dtex CORDURA — a heavy, canvas-like fabric that has been around for fifty years. It's durable, it's dependable, and it's light.

It also allows the techniques needed for custom, intricate work: a wide range of colours, and a very specific feel in the hand.

CORDURA is a licensed fabric with strict rules on manufacturing, technical and colour qualities. In most cases it has nothing to do with other nylon fabrics, which can be ten times weaker.

WEBBING

THE STRUCTURE
OF THE BELT

Webbing is a woven strip material. We use it throughout our products because it's a perfect match with CORDURA.

Its non-stretch quality makes it excellent for belts, especially paired with a COBRA buckle. A wide range of widths and colours lets us build products with a specific feel and specific qualities.

THREADS

GÜTERMANN

You can't sew without thread. Since we already use the highest quality materials everywhere else, we go with the industry leader.

Strong, stable, excellent quality — everything required to go above and beyond when putting our products together.

HARDWARE

NOTHING FAILS
AT THE WRONG TIME

Hardware is an incredibly important part of any product. It can make or break an item through poor functionality, or through failure at the wrong moment. That's why we've carefully selected the exact pieces we use, from a small number of brands.

COBRA PRO belt buckles from Austrialpin are the industry standard. They work, they don't fail, and they're very easy to use.

For plastic buckles and adjusters we use 2M or Duraflex. Both produce mil-spec pieces that are in a league of their own.
